1. Introduction

Tatsat Bodhaa (OPC) Private Limited ("we", "us") runs Video Transcript API. This policy explains what data we collect when you use our website, REST API, MCP server and dashboard, how we use it, and who we share it with.

3. Information We Collect

We collect only what we need to run the service:

• Account information: your email address and name from sign-in, and your answer to "How did you hear about us?".
• API keys: stored encrypted. The dashboard shows only a masked version.
• Request logs: for each transcript request, the link, platform, mode, language, status, minutes used and which key sent it. Transcript text isn't stored in our database.
• Uploaded files: audio and video files you upload to transcribe.
• Billing information: your plan, subscription status and usage. Card details go straight to Dodo Payments and never reach us.
• Technical data: error reports and usage events tied to your account, used to find and fix problems.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Fetch the media you ask for and return its transcript.
• Run your account, apply your plan's limits and bill you.
• Show you your usage and request logs in the dashboard.
• Find and fix bugs, and understand how the service is used.
• Reply to your emails and send service-related updates.
• We don't sell your data, and we don't use your content to train AI models.

5. AI Transcription

When a video has no captions, or you ask for AI transcription, we send its audio to ElevenLabs or Azure OpenAI to transcribe it. They process the audio only to return the transcript, under their own terms and privacy policies.

6. Data Retention

We keep data only as long as we need it:

• Request logs are deleted automatically after 30 days.
• Uploaded files: the download link stops working after 24 hours, and the file is deleted automatically soon after.
• Transcripts are kept by our background job provider, Trigger.dev, under its retention period, so you can view them from your logs.
• Account information, API keys and billing status are kept while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your account, API keys and request logs, and cancel any subscription.
• Dodo Payments keeps payment records as the law requires.

7. Data Security

All data is encrypted in transit using TLS. API keys are stored encrypted, and access to production systems is limited to the people who run the service.

8. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: ask us to fix data that's wrong.
• Deletion: ask us to delete your account and its data.

9. International Data Transfers

Our providers process data in several countries, including the United States, where uploaded files are stored. We use providers that maintain appropriate data protection standards.

10. Cookies

This website doesn't set cookies. The app uses the cookies Clerk needs to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising cookies.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our data practices or legal requirements. Changes become effective when posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
